About The Parent Collective
Bio
The Parent Collective offers both virtual & in-person prenatal education tailored to help expectant couples build a local support network. Inspired by the UK's NCT, which has been supporting parents for 80 years, our classes are designed to sort participants by community & due date, fostering connections that last well into early parenthood. Join us in CT, NY, NJ, CA & on zoom for our prenatal series. We also provide virtual classes for labor & delivery, feeding, baby care, & postpartum prep.
Q&A
Q: How much experience do you have?
A: All of our classes are taught by nurses & certified nurse midwives to ensure you receive evidenced-based and judgement-free information to help you feel empowered to be successful, whatever their choices for birth or caring for their baby may be.
Q: What locations or areas do you serve?
A: We offer virtual classes in labor & delivery prep, breast & bottle feeding, new baby care, & postpartum prep. Our in person series, designed to help expectant couples find local community are currently running in Westchester County NY, NYC, Fairfield County CT, Union County NJ, and Los Angeles CA.
Q: What drew you into working with parents-to-be?
A: Finding in person community to weather new parenthood is essential. So many new mothers feel isolated. Their identities shift overnight and it is so impactful to have other women experiencing the same unmooring feelings to brave the transition with. We want to help mothers find those friendships while they still feel like themselves.
Q: What's your favorite past client story?
A: I ran into a mom in a coffeeshop recently and she said she had taken one of our classes and how much they meant to her. She then pulled out her phone and showed me one of her contacts (which was her best mom friend) who was still listed years later as 'Amy TPC' because they had met through our classes. Those stories always give me chills. ❤️
