About The Distinguished Doula

Bio

I am a fun, compassionate, organized, patient person whose purpose in life is to care for, educate, and support others. My goal has always been to meet clients where they are by pivoting as they transform into the parents they are meant to be. My speciality is feeding (especially lactation), and my schedule consists of daytime lactation counseling & prenatal classes, and nighttime postpartum doula support. I am living out my dream by becoming an IBCLC and continuing to love all birthing people.

Q&A

Q: What are your certifications and trainings?

A: I am an IBCLC (Lactation Consultant), Certified Postpartum Doula, a Certified Lactation Counselor. I have additional training in infant massage, Basic life Support (CPR and First Aid), and birth doula support (though I am not actively working as a labor doula anymore).

Q: Are there any specialities in who you serve? (e.g. home birth, VBAC, etc.)

A: My specialty is feeding and lactation during daytime lactation counseling and overnight doula support - though everyone brings their unique goals, experiences, and circumstances, so pivoting is important to me when I support my clients, regardless of their culture, race, ethnicity, gender, background, experience level, and socio-economic status.

Q: What locations or areas do you serve?

A: I service all of Los Angeles County, much of West Inland Empire, North Orange County, and from Palmdale to Long Beach. Occasionally I'll service East Ventura County.

Q: What's your top piece of advice for an expectant mom?

A: Expectant parents will be adding the hat called "parenthood," but they won't take off their other hats: they’re still a partner, friend, child, sibling, colleague. They still have hobbies, routines, likes and dislikes. Therefore, I encourage parents to do something everyday that makes them feel like a human and not just a parent - they are BOTH.
