About Small Things, Great Love Birth Services
Bio
Hello! I'm Sarah Herbein, a postpartum/bereavement doula and Certified Breastfeeding Specialist in Western NC. My two children were born 8 and 5 weeks early, and moving through those experiences showed me the importance of community and connection during the postpartum period. I am passionate about exploring the intersection of traditional and modern approaches, and I have personal experience with cloth diapering, baby wearing, pumping, and more!
Q&A
Q: What locations or areas do you serve?
A: My virtual consultation services are available to anyone in the US. For in-person support, I travel about 30-45 minutes from my home in Western NC. This includes (generally speaking) Morganton, Hickory, Marion, Newton/Conover, and Lenoir.
Q: What are your certifications and trainings?
A: I am certified as a Postpartum Doula and Breastfeeding Specialist. I have also completed several different intensive trainings on grief and pregnancy/infant loss (Including certification as a PAILAdvocate), and much of my continuing education focuses on mental health.

Description
Nursing a baby (or babies!) can be beautiful, fulfilling, and joyful. It can also be complicated, stressful, and painful. Some situations I commonly support include, but are not limited to: assessing latch and assisting with positions, establishing supply in the early days, learning to pump and bottle feed, returning to work, starting solids, adjusting a low/over supply, and weaning.
Sessions last 1-2 hours and are in the comfort of your home.
Pricing Description
A 1-2 hour session is $60.

Helping everyone get as much rest as possible is typically my goal during overnight shifts. Helping with feeding/pumping, diapering, getting baby back to sleep, washing bottles, talking about any concerns from the day before, and preparing coffee in the morning are all often part of my care. Each shift will be different, though, depending on baby's needs and the family's priorities.
