About Seattle Doula Services
Bio
My path to doula work began in a very personal way. When my best friend asked me to support her during birth, I said yes without hesitation...and quickly realized how much there was to learn about truly showing up for someone in that space. What I thought would just be supporting a friend turned into something much bigger. Being present for her and her partner, holding space, and witnessing her strength showed me just how powerful it is to have someone by your side whose only focus is you.
Q&A
Q: What are your certifications and trainings?
A: Hannah is a Washington State Certified birth doula serving families through Seattle Doula Services. She has completed DONA International’s professional birth and postpartum doula training programs through Sharon Muza and Bastyr University. and continues to engage in ongoing education to stay current in evidence-based birth support practices.
Q: How do you answer the question: "I want your support but my partner feels like they'll be replaced"?
A: I love to actively include partners in the birth experience so they feel capable and involved rather than unsure or sidelined. Partners are an important part of the process, and I encourage them participate in meaningful ways so they can support you effectively.
