Q&A

Q: How much experience do you have?

A: I have attended many home births as a primary assistant to a midwife wife in southcentral Alaska for 2 years and caught a few babies all by myself. In addition, I have had my own doula clients in VT, NH and AK at home and hospital. I have breastfed a cumulative of 4 years and have learned a few tricks. I also gave birth to a breech baby at home.

Q: What are your certifications and trainings?

A: Breech Without Borders Professional Workshop - Dr. David Hayes, MD/OBGYN Heart and Hands Beginning and Advanced Midwifery - Elizabeth Davis, Midwife Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) - AAP Basic Life Support for Healthcare Providers (BLS) - AHA DONA International Birth Doula and Breastfeeding Workshop Wilderness First Responder - SOLO

Q: How do you answer the question: "I want your support but my partner feels like they'll be replaced"?

A: Your partner can never be replaced! I am there to support you both. In, fact a lot of my prenatal education for labor focuses on how partners can help and feel prepared for birth. It's a huge transition for both of you. I encourage them to do what they do best, love you. Sometimes I do go in instead of a partner because that's what we all decided.

Q: Are there any specialities in who you serve? (e.g. home birth, VBAC, etc.)

A: I am experienced in VBAC, homebirth, and vaginal breech birth. I support all people and family structures. All birthing people are important. Respectful, and competent care should be available to all, BIPOC, LGBTQIA, poly, monogamous teens, single people, the unmarried, and those considering adoption.

Q: What locations or areas do you serve?

A: I live near Ludlow VT and am typically willing to drive up to 3 hours from my home for births. I do charge a travel fee above 40 miles. If you can not find a provider near you who fits your needs I can travel further if there are no other schedule conflicts.
