Bio
Hi there! I'm Markie Novotny, owner & doula at Pink Skies. I am trained through DONA International as a postpartum doula and have years worth of experience as a nanny and caregiver. I love supporting families through these transitional life changes, and I believe there is nothing more important. My approach centers around holistic, full spectrum nourishment. Emotional, mental, physical, and spiritual enrichment is my priority so you can truly enjoy these all-too-brief moments with your new baby.

Q: What locations or areas do you serve?
A: I serve within 90 miles of Bismarck, North Dakota for daytime shifts. Overnight shifts are available for within 60 miles of Bismarck.
Q: What drew you into working with parents-to-be?
A: I believe that Mothers are absolutely magic. Our Creator has designed women to have the amazing ability to bring life into this world, to feed those babies if they so choose, to always hold & nurture them, to teach us what unconditional love is. They deserve to be truly supported during this sometimes challenging period, and I feel honored to help.
Q: What's your top piece of advice for an expectant mom?
A: Be honest with your needs! This can be a hard time, albeit beautiful. Its ok to ask for help, for someone to vent to, to take a break, to ask for a hug, to admit you're overwhelmed. Mothers are not meant to do it ALL, even though society often expects that of them. This is a milestone in your life, lets make it something wonderful to look back on.

Overnight Doula
Description
This service is for an 8 hour overnight postpartum doula shift. Personalized time depending on the mother's needs, duties can include:
~new born care while Mom sleeps and relaxes in bed before, during and after feedings, including diapering, soothing, bottle feeding & more
~meal prep a nutritious breakfast for Mom to wake up to
~light housekeeping such as folding laundry, bottle washing, sweeping, stocking supplies & snacks, etc.
Pricing Description
Each 8 hour overnight shift is $320. This service is available within 60 miles of the greater Bismarck area. This service is offered only during the first week of every month. More details may be provided at intake. Contact me with questions!

Postpartum Doulas
Description
This service is for a 4 hour daytime postpartum doula shift. Personalized time depending on the mother's needs, duties can include:
~new born care while Mom takes a break or bonds with other children
~meal prep nourishing foods that helps Mom heal, this may include a trip to the grocery store
~light housekeeping such as laundry, dish washing, sweeping, etc.
~emotional support such as helping Mom process her birth story, body image changes
Pricing Description
Each 4 hour shift is $120. It is typical (and traditional) for mothers to need support at least once a week for up to 12 weeks, otherwise known as the "fourth trimester." However, everyone's needs are different! Some mothers may choose to have 3 shifts per week in the beginning until they get the hang of things, others may feel one shift is enough for them to get a breather!
One shift - $120
Six Shifts - $720
12 Shifts - $1,440
