About Mothers Hands Doula and Lactation Consultant
Bio
I am mother of 5 and we have welcomed 3 grandbabies since August 2025. I enjoy supporting families ~ moms, dad and children ~ through the transition of adding a new little one, or ones, into the home. I believe it is important to prepare for postpartum and lactation well by understanding what happens in pregnancy, labor, delivery and post-birth and how it affects both mom and baby in recovery through 4-6 months of babies life. I want to be a resource that you can depend on!!
Q&A
Q: How do you answer the question: "I want your support but my partner feels like they'll be replaced"?
A: I am here to be a support and advocate between the client(s) and the facility and/or staff. I do not make decisions for my clients but empower them to make the best decision for them using evidence-based information.
Q: What drew you into working with parents-to-be?
A: I realized that families do not get the help and moral support needed during pregnancy to prepare for them post birth. They are often sent home feeling unequipped and nervous to care for a new little one. I enjoy caring for people, mothers specifically, and helping families with the transitions that a new baby bring.
Q: Are there any specialities in who you serve? (e.g. home birth, VBAC, etc.)
A: I have discovered that as a birth doula I do best in a hospital birth doula setting. I understand much of what happens in the labor and delivery room and am able to interact well with my clients and staff to help facilitate the birth that the client desires.
Q: What are your certifications and trainings?
A: I have completed online training in postpartum doula and lactation services. I have also done research on birth doula services, positions, techniques, and more to help provide an unbiased but evidence-based birth and recovery for mother and baby.
Q: What drew you into working with parents-to-be?
A: As a mother of 5 I felt unequipped to be a parent, though I had been around a lot of children as a teenager and young adult. I worked with church families and met lots of moms at parks and Chick-Fil-A’s and was always able to provide encouragement. In November 2022 a doula friend challenged me to pursue postpartum doula care, the rest is history.
