It is my deepest and most sincere belief that we can change the world simply by changing the way we treat people during birth and parenthood. I believe in finding the balance between science and magic, and between personal and political policies. I want to help you feel confident and autonomous by providing you with evidence-based information as well as empathy and space-holding, so that you can make the best informed decisions for your body, your baby, and your birth.

What are your certifications and trainings?

I'm addicted to fancy expensive pieces of paper, and all the alphabet-soup letters behind my name! I've been a Certified Lactation Counselor since 2020, a Matrescence Mentor since 2022, and received my DONA Certification in 2023. What drew you into working with parents-to-be?

Research tells us that parents remember the birth of their children for their entire lives, right down to the smallest details. What happens during childbirth can have long-lasting effects on self esteem, self confidence, and parenting. That means we have the ability to change the whole world if we can change the way we treat people during birth.

What locations or areas do you serve?

I serve all of Metro Detroit - Oakland, Macomb, Wayne, Washtenaw, and Livingston Counties - and all surrounding cities within one hour of my home in Redford Township, Michigan. I attend births at hospitals, birth centers, and planned home births.

How do you answer the question: "I want your support but my partner feels like they'll be replaced"?

Partners usually want to help, but often aren't sure how. I offer guidance and teach comfort techniques to help. The same love that gets baby IN can help get baby OUT! But nobody can pour from an empty cup, and that means partners need someone to pour into them so they can be the best support for the pregnant person. I support the whole family.

What's your top piece of advice for an expectant mom?

You don't know what you don't know, and when it comes to birth there are a LOT more choices available than you probably realize. But you won't know if you don't ask! If you don't have the information you need to make wise choices, you need to find someone who does. If you don't take the time to make your wishes known, they'll never come to be.
