About LeAnn Evans Postpartum Doula of Salt Lake City, Utah

Bio

As a Christian, I believe that this is sacred work. I feel honored and privileged to serve you and your family in your home which is a sacred space. I believe that families are the building blocks of our society and our country. The postpartum period is a very vulnerable time when moms and dads need special care and nurturing. My goal is to provide the kind of support that parents want, need and deserve in order for them to thrive in their family life.

Q&A

Q: What drew you into working with parents-to-be?

A: I am a mother of 4 children. I love being a mother and I treasured the early years. I experienced two miscarriages and postpartum anxiety and depression. Looking back on my own experience I can see where I could have used a lot more help and support during postpartum. I am hoping to share what I have learned and ease the experience of others.

Q: What are your certifications and trainings?

A: I trained to be a postpartum doula with the company, Birth Boot Camp under Kristy Huber who has more than 25 years experience in the field. I have been certified in Infant CPR. I have a college degree in Early Childhood Human Development from the University of Utah. I also carry a current Food Handler's Permit.

Q: What locations or areas do you serve?

A: I serve the Salt Lake City Valley. That includes Salt Lake City, South Salt Lake, Murray, Taylorsville, Millcreek, Holladay, Cottonwood Heights, Sandy, Draper, West Valley, and West Jordan. Contact me if you don't see your city listed.

Q: What's your favorite past client story?

A: One of my clients had her 3rd baby girl. She hired me to take the older girls off her hands for a couple hours at a time so that she could take time for self care and bonding with her new baby. I also have 3 girls. I had a neighbor who did this for me a few times. Taking care of my client's older girls brought back so many joyful memories.

Q: Are there any specialities in who you serve? (e.g. home birth, VBAC, etc.)

A: I like to serve families who have children with special needs. I have experience working with children with all kinds of disabilities. Children with disabilities bring unique challenges and require unique care and attention. I love to help families thrive and feel as much love and joy as possible. I love to see the growth that happens.
