$250 for 90-minute initial consultation, which includes same-day feedback and recommendations. $200/session for brief psychotherapy after that, if more sessions are desired.

Here at It Takes A Village, we know that what parents really need is personalized support because no one family has the same needs as another. Dr. Ally Legrand Hrindo and Dr. Aubrey Carpenter are both licensed clinical psychologists with training in evidence-based approaches to perinatal mental health and supporting caregivers through all of the challenges that modern day parenting brings. A 90-minute one-time consultation with us may be just what an overwhelmed parent in your life needs!

What locations or areas do you serve?

Both Dr. Legrand and Dr. Carpenter serve Vermonters through in-person or telehealth (client must be physically located in VT at the time of services). Dr. Legrand also serves individuals in NY state.

What drew you into working with parents-to-be?

Dr. Carpenter is a clinical child psychologist by training and a mother of three herself. After a decade of working with kids and families, combined with firsthand experience of how even the most well-resourced parents find themselves struggling from time to time, she opened a private practice exclusively focused on supporting parents.

What drew you into working with parents-to-be?

Dr. Legrand has worked in a variety of settings focused on women's health and well-being during pregnancy and postpartum. She is passionate about supporting pregnant and postpartum individuals who may benefit from brief psychotherapy anchored in evidence-based skills to improve overall mental health, such as mindfulness and self-compassion.

What are your certifications and trainings?

Dr. Carpenter and Dr. Legrand both have a PhD in Clinical Psychology and a decade of experience in cognitive behavioral therapy, acceptance and commitment therapy, and related approaches. Dr. Carpenter has also completed in depth training with Postpartum Support International, and Dr. Legrand serves on the board for the local PSI Vermont chapter.

What's your top piece of advice for an expectant mom?

We are passionate about serving all identities and so we wish we could change this question to ask our top piece of advice for a pregnant person or caregiver. We often spend time reflecting on your values and how becoming a parent pulls for us to redefine what we need to be the best version of ourselves, even if this process sometimes feels messy!
