About Homemade Birth

Bio

As a birth doula and perinatal occupational therapist, I love to help people find success and fulfilment in everyday activities, like birth! I bring a unique and compassionate skill set to provide empathetic, non-judgmental support to clients who may be facing additional challenges during their pregnancy and postpartum journey. While I work with clients in all birth settings, I bring an experienced perspective to those planning a home birth.

Q&A

Q: Are there any specialities in who you serve? (e.g. home birth, VBAC, etc.)

A: As a holistic birth doula I attract clients seeking a demedicalized birth experience and those who want to build trust and confidence in their body's natural birthing abilities.

Q: What are your certifications and trainings?

A: Masters in Occupational Therapy- 2019 Community Aware Birthworker Doula Training - 2024

Q: What's your top piece of advice for an expectant mom?

A: Plan for the birth you want, not the birth you're afraid of.

Q: How do you answer the question: "I want your support but my partner feels like they'll be replaced"?

A: Most partners want to help in birth, either they just don't know how to help, or they feel overwhelmed by the birth process. A doula's role is to educate and support both the client and their partner during the birth process, so both party's can relax and enjoy the birth process as much as possible!
