Hi, my name is Amy. I’m a holistic movement coach. I blend the platforms of pilates, yoga, and Body Mind Centering® into private and group sessions focused on deep healing and nourishing movement. I specialize in body attunement & sustainable strength training for mothers at all stages. I also support infants' developmental movement processes in weekly play groups.

Q: What are your certifications and trainings?

A: Infant Developmental Movement Education, The School for Body Mind Centering Pre & Postnatal Yoga, Maha Mama Pre & Postnatal Pilates, Kinected Embodied Anatomy & Yoga, School for Body Mind Centering Comprehensive Pilates, 500-hour, Balanced Body University Bachelor of Arts in Dance Performance, University of Maryland, Baltimore County.

Q: What locations or areas do you serve?

A: My in-person work operates mainly out of Brooklyn, NY. I teach 1:1 pilates and sustainable movement sessions in Boerum Hill, Brooklyn. I also teach perinatal group classes and infant play groups in Park Slope, Brooklyn. My postpartum course and 1:1 sessions can also be enjoyed online from anywhere in the world.

Q: What's your favorite past client story?

A: I supported a new mama through a Closing of the Bones ceremony. We spent weeks preparing. I invited her to journal about her experience of becoming a mother. The ceremony, itself, was a powerful and potent experience. It brought me joy to witness her stay present for the mix of emotions that come with motherhood and to create her own narrative.

Q: How much experience do you have?

A: I have been teaching pilates and mindful movement for over 15 years.

Q: What's your top piece of advice for an expectant mom?

A: Included in my work with mothers and families is that of preparing for the fourth trimester. More than anything, I would recommend expectant families prepare for their fourth trimesters by creating systems, hiring the right support team, and acknowledging the need for rest, warmth, nourishing food, and bodywork to ensure a healing experience.
