Fiona is passionate about nurturing the whole family unit. She has been supporting families for six years now and continues to empower them with her encouraging words, peaceful presence and intentional strategies. She keeps the family's values and preferences at the center of her care as she guides them through the pregnancy, labour and parenthood. Q: What's your top piece of advice for an expectant mom?

A: Your experience is unique to you. Comparison is the thief of joy, so reminding yourself that your lived experience can and will be different than other moms you encounter will help keep a fresh perspective.

Q: How do you answer the question: "I want your support but my partner feels like they'll be replaced"?

A: Let your partner know, we're actually there to make him feel more confident supporting you. Most partners have never been in a birthing room before, so to expect them to intuitively know what you need is challenging. As your doula, we aim to keep your desires and values at the forefront of your care and that includes intimacy between you both.

Q: Are there any specialities in who you serve? (e.g. home birth, VBAC, etc.)

A: My specialty is supporting biblical-based families and those that desire a physiological birth. As a believer of Christ, I support families of the same belief spiritually grow and be reminded of the promises of God. A physiological birth can be medicated or unmedicated - we focus on how the body moves and understanding the process.
