Bio

Chef Ariel Voorhees is the owner of Gather Round Chef Service, which helps busy families connect and relax over a good dinner each night. From 2019 to 2023, Gather Round served Washington, DC families, and now Chef Ariel is excited to bring her delicious custom meals to families in the Burlington, VT area. She adores Vermont's natural beauty, shares its obsession with good food, and is ready to master all the winter sports. Bring it on!

What locations or areas do you serve?

Burlington, VT, and surrounding areas. Areas outside of Chittenden County available with a $75 travel fee.

What's your favorite past client story?

I started cooking for clients E and L as they were preparing to welcome their first baby. I packed their freezer on a monthly basis, always expecting them to move on once the postpartum intensity had passed. But we kept working together through baby #2 and until I moved to VT! It's an honor and pleasure to support parents as their families grow.

What drew you into working with parents-to-be?

I've been there myself! My own postpartum experience with two kids taught me first-hand how important it is to have food at the ready to keep yourself nourished, happy, and strong when you're laser-focused on the needs of your baby (and their older sibling or siblings).

How do you answer the question: "I want your support but my partner feels like they'll be replaced"?

If your partner is ready to take on all of the meal prep duties -- including planning, shopping, cooking, and cleanup -- they're welcome to do that! But chances are that, during the intensity of the postpartum period, they'll have more pressing matters to attend to. I'm here to help everyone in the family remain healthy, happy, and strong!
