About Counting Sleep with Courtney

Bio

After facing sleep struggles with my first child, I became passionate about helping other moms on their own sleep journey. The mission at Counting Sleep with Courtney is to help moms feel less alone by supporting, educating, and empowering them as they work through their child’s sleep struggles. With a tailored approach for each family, I am committed to helping families achieve the peaceful and restorative sleep they deserve, all while fostering a nurturing and loving environment.

Q&A

Q: What drew you into working with parents-to-be?

A: I became a mom during the pandemic. My son wasn’t sleeping well, and I found myself isolated and without a “village.” I turned to Instagram and found my own sort of virtual “village” through the expert moms I followed. From them I learned how to get my son to sleep. I became passionate about sleep and wanted to help other moms feel less alone.

Q: What are your certifications and trainings?

A: I am a Certified Pediatric Sleep Consultant, certified through The Cradle Coach Academy. The course has over 200 hours of scientific, evidence-based content and mentorship, including 50 hours of hands-on experience. I also have a background in education and was a teacher for 2 years. After teaching, I was a nanny for 4 years. I am a mom to 2 boys.

Q: What locations or areas do you serve?

A: I am located in Indianapolis, Indiana but the entire process is virtual so you can be anywhere in the world! All communication is done via phone, text, and email.

Q: What's your top piece of advice for an expectant mom?

A: My best advice for an expectant mom is to expect the unexpected. Parenting is full of surprises, and no two journeys are the same. But here's the truth: you were made to do this and to parent your unique child. Trust yourself—moms know best, even when it feels like you're figuring it out as you go.

Q: How do you answer the question: "I want your support but my partner feels like they'll be replaced"?

A: Parents aren’t meant to be experts on everything—it’s okay to need help! I work with families to ensure your values and desires are at the heart of your baby’s sleep plan. My role is to come alongside you, offering guidance and support, not to take over. Together, we’ll create a plan that works for your family.
