Bio

Hi! My name is Jenny Lash and I am a birth and postpartum doula serving the Nashville and surrounding areas. First and foremost, I am a mother to four sweet girls of my own. Before training to become a doula, I was an early childhood teacher. I have a degree in early childhood and a master's in special education. After spending years working closely with the families of young children, I decided to follow a dream of mine to help young families in a new way.

Q: What locations or areas do you serve?

A: I am located in Williamson County, just south of Nashville, Tennessee. I serve birth clients in the Nashville area, and postpartum clients who are located near me in Williamson County.

Q: What are your certifications and trainings?

A: I am currently working towards certification as a birth and postpartum doula. I am trained through DONA as a birth doula and Blissful Birthing as a postpartum doula.

Q: How do you answer the question: "I want your support but my partner feels like they'll be replaced"?

A: I too had this same concern when I hired my own doula, so I completely understand! As your doula, I will customize my services to support you AND your partner in ways that meet your needs. I can be more hands on with comfort measures, or I can offer suggestions to your partner so that they may be the one directly supporting you through labor.

Q: What drew you into working with parents-to-be?

A: I started Birth Confidence Doula Services as a way to support women through each phase of their journey into motherhood. I am passionate about all things birth, and I believe that every women has the power within to have the birth experience they desire. My goal is to educate clients and help them to feel confident and supported.

Q: Are there any specialities in who you serve? (e.g. home birth, VBAC, etc.)

A: I am passionate about supporting all women through whatever birth experience they desire, and I have grown to love supporting women in natural hospital birth experiences. I also specialize in supporting VBACs and had three successful VBACs myself where I birthed naturally in a hospital setting.
