About ATL Pelvic Health
Bio
Katie founded ATL Pelvic Health in 2021 after recognizing the need for pelvic floor physical therapy specialized to women’s needs. With ATL Pelvic Health, her goal is to educate, provide resources and guide women through caring for their bodies. There is still a large stigma around talking about peeing, pooping or sex, but she wants to normalize these topics. ATL Pelvic Health is changing the care available to new moms. Katie’s hope is that you can return to the activities you love without pain
Q&A
Q: How much experience do you have?
A: I have been working in the field of pelvic health since 2018. My passion initially began after my own personal journey. After a hip injury sidelined me from running, I saw an orthopedic PT who referred me to a pelvic PT. She opened my eyes to how many women of all ages likely experience similar symptoms without knowing where to turn.
Q: What are your certifications and trainings?
A: I have extensive training in pelvic health through the Herman and Wallace Institute. I also have taken advanced coursework as it pertains to visceral mobilization, pregnancy, postpartum and return to running. I received my comprehensive certification with Polestar Pilates in 2017.
Q: What's your top piece of advice for an expectant mom?
A: It is more important to prepare your body and mind for birth and postpartum than it is worrying about buying everything to have the perfect nursery.
