Bio

Elaine Kopinga, CNM, NP has a truly novel approach to care, melding practices that have worked for women for centuries with modern, evidenced-based research. Born in Ghana, she is excited to bring a combination of this ancient wisdom and modern science to her clients. She is the founder of Obaatan Midwifery & Postpartum, which provides doula services for women throughout pregnancy and the postpartum period based on traditional Chinese Birth & Postpartum Recovery model of care.

Q: What are your certifications and trainings?

A: I am a Certified Nurse Midwife and Nurse Practitioner. Prior to receiving my MSN, I received a BS in Business Administration and Marketing.

Q: What locations or areas do you serve?

A: Our headquarters are based in Beverly Hills and Orange County, CA but we work with clients all over the United States and internationally.

Q: How much experience do you have?

A: I have over 15 years of clinical experience.

Q: What's your top piece of advice for an expectant mom?

A: Pregnancy can be difficult, but I would advise all expectant moms to enjoy the feeling of their babies moving inside of them; they will miss it! It's such a special bond between mother and child. For moms who are adopting or using a surrogate, enjoy the anticipation of holding your baby soon!
