What are your certifications and trainings?

I am a certified birth doula through ProDoula, Hypnobabies, and VBACLink. I am certified as a VBAC specialist through ProDoula and VBACLink as well! I'm also a certified Hypnobabies instructor. I'm CPR certified through the Red Cross. I've taken courses on massage and gentle touch for supporting birth.

What locations or areas do you serve?

I serve Utah County and Salt Lake County, in Utah. I'm located right along the border between the two counties, giving me terrific access to both!

What drew you into working with parents-to-be?

I experienced severe trauma with my first birth, so I know how unprepared, unsupported, and overwhelmed parents can feel in the birth space. I experienced such a difference when I educated myself, and hired a doula, and prepared for my post-partum experience. I want to help parents avoid birth trauma and enter new parenthood feeling empowered!

How much experience do you have?

I've been a full-time doula since December 2022. I have attended around 23 births, but that number continually grows. I also take courses every year in order to stay up to date on training and certifications. I'm thirsty for all the birth knowledge! I've also experienced two births of my own- they ignited my passion for birthwork!

How do you answer the question: "I want your support but my partner feels like they'll be replaced"?

Birth goes more smoothly when birthing parents feel safe and heard. Birth hormones flow easily when you are with the people you trust most- and who do you trust more than your partner? I focus on mutual preparation and fostering open communication between partners, and I know when to back off and allow partners their own safe space!
