About A Bridge to Motherhood
Bio
In 2018, at five weeks postpartum with my first child, I was diagnosed with postpartum depression. I spent the next year pursuing healing with a team of specialists. When I got pregnant again three years later, I knew something had to change. I took the time to educate myself and prepare holistically for postpartum. It wasn’t until after my son was born that I heard the word doula, and I knew that my life's calling was found. It is my mission to provide a peaceful transition into motherhood.
Q&A
Q: Are there any specialities in who you serve? (e.g. home birth, VBAC, etc.)
A: With my prior experience with having a perinatal mood disorder, I love serving moms who may have a predisposition to postpartum depression and anxiety to help support them through the early postpartum period as well as moms who have been diagnosed with a perinatal mood disorder and are looking for respite care support.
Q: What are your certifications and trainings?
A: I am certified with BirthWorker Academy as a full-spectrum doula. I am CPR/First Aid Certified, a Gift Registry Consultation Expert with BeHer Village, and am currently training in my babywearing certification with Adjoyn.
Q: What locations or areas do you serve?
A: I serve the Greater Cleveland, OH area and will travel anywhere within an hour of Lorain, OH including Cuyahoga, Lorain, and Erie Counties. However, I also offer virtual services as well.
Q: How do you answer the question: "I want your support but my partner feels like they'll be replaced"?
A: I do not believe that anyone can replace your partner or your family. However, by hiring a postpartum doula, I can allow your partner, yourself, and your family more time to bond with your new baby as I take care of all of you.
Q: How much experience do you have?
A: I started my training in December of 2022, and I hit the ground running in May of 2023 providing both birth and postpartum support. However, before becoming certified, I was serving as a postpartum doula for friends without even knowing the role existed. At my core, I am a helper and love to serve others.
