My name is Melanie Velez (pronouns: she/her) and I'm a Long Island, NY mom who LOVES BIRTH. I am a passionate birthworker trained in educating and supporting new and seasoned parents in hospital births, home births, birth center births, and the postpartum period. My teaching approach and doula support style are warm, welcoming, and inclusive. ALL are welcome here.

Q: What are your certifications and trainings?

A: I am a Certified BEST Childbirth Educator and am currently completing my Birth Doula training with Madriella Doula Network.

Q: What locations or areas do you serve?

A: I offer my in-person birth doula services to the Long Island, NY area, and my virtual childbirth education courses worldwide!

Q: How do you answer the question: "I want your support but my partner feels like they'll be replaced"?

A: Partners are an incredibly large and important piece of the birth support system! Partners know the birthing parent better than anyone, and doulas and educators are there to enhance the birth experience with their specialized knowledge (and even support hardworking partners!).
